Driver Development Manager

Location: Katy Service Center





Relationships and Retention:

  • Create a relationship with every Driving Associate by showing sincere concern for his/her family, goals and personal interests
  • Help make each and every Driving Associate successful by positively recognizing excellent performance
  • Keep ongoing communication with Driver Managers about potential Driving Associate concerns (payroll, break down, etc.)


  • Work collaboratively with each Driving Associate to identify opportunities for improvement and actively provide the training/coaching needed to help him/her reach their highest potential
  • Provide relevant training to Driving Associates who have had an incident or accident
  • Assist each Driving Associate in achieving quarterly MPG and Idle goals

Safety Management:

  •  Conduct effective interventions with drivers on all safety performance events
  • Effectively manage and coach drivers on hours of service
  • Help prevent equipment breakdowns by running the service report daily and facilitating on-time completion of A and B Services
  • Proactively communicate with Driving Associates about safety expectations including pre-trip inspections, following distance, and route conditions



  • Drive production through training and developing Team Members and Driving Associates
  • Ensure company compliance and safety measures are exceeded
  • Help to develop and train Driving Associates so that more than 40% of stars are achieved
  • Help achieve +24 net drivers per year
  • Be positive, specific, clearly communicate expectations and develop relationships
  • Data accuracy
